The story
Jack Reacher, a former US Army military police major, drifts from town to town with no fixed address and no wish for one. Formidably strong and far sharper than he looks, he keeps stumbling into murders, conspiracies and corruption, and settles them with a blend of forensic deduction and overwhelming force. Each season adapts a different Lee Child novel, beginning with Killing Floor.
Why it matters
Reacher gave Amazon a dependable mass-audience action franchise: its first season topped Nielsen's weekly streaming rankings, the first Amazon production to manage that, and the show has since been renewed through a sixth season and launched its own spin-off, Neagley.
