The story
Lin Ford, an Australian armed robber, breaks out of prison and flees to Bombay under a new identity. Hoping to vanish, he instead finds himself drawn into life in the crowded Sagar Wada slum, a charged romance with the enigmatic Karla, and the orbit of the city's crime lords, where every favour comes at a price.
Why it matters
Co-created by Ted Lasso's Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein with its star Jason Segel, Shrinking gave Apple TV a warm, funny series about grief, with Harrison Ford as Jimmy's senior colleague Paul. Pitched as a three-season story, it has been extended with a fourth season that begins a new story with the same cast.
